04/06/2020 - COVID-19 Changes:
Aging Resources is still up and running. We are, as you are, considered an essential service. We are presently not accepting visitors to our office or scheduling any face to face meetings with clients. We are in process of transitioning into working from home. This will officially start Monday, April 5th. The management team will remain in our office, but all other staff will be working from home. All of our calls will be answered in the order of which we receive them. Funding support for older adults, persons with a disability and family caregiver will still be available. People can continue to call our agency number, 515-255-1310 or staff’s individual numbers if you have them. Please leave a message and we will return calls as soon as we can. We are attempting to provide reassurance calls to people who have received some type of funding from us this past year. We continue to provide support for people who are being abused or at risk of being abused. Our Elder Rights Specialist will be available to discuss any concerns that you or one of your clients might have. We can also assist any older or disabled adult and their caregivers with information about services needed. Please take care of yourselves and we will be seeing everyone soon.
FAMILY CAREGIVER PROGRAM provides information and assistance to caregivers of frail elders or disabled adults over 18 years of age through direct service, referrals, and local community educational sessions. Assessment of needs of caregiver and older adult linking individuals to appropriate supportive services and follow up support and advocacy provided. Services include: planning assistance, referrals, training, respite care, support groups and counseling.
This program also assists older adults who are caring for minor children. Most often those are grandparents caring for grandchildren who are under the age of 18 years. This program has limited funding to assist the older adult with purchasing clothing, paying for school events or summer camps.
