Crime Stoppers is a confidential program that will pay up to $1000.00 for information leading to an arrest and/or conviction for a crime. Call to report information about a crime. Callers do not have to give their name. They will be given an identification number, and if the information results in an arrest or conviction for a crime, they may be eligible for a reward.
Lincoln Crime Free Multi-housing Program is a three-phase program which addresses the needs of multi-housing units in areas of security and crime prevention.
Neighborhood Watch Program provides a formal network for concerned citizens to communicate with neighbors and the Police Department regarding crime related problems. Services include education to reduce crime which affects families and property; home security and personal awareness information provided through meetings, films and displays; and an Operation Identification System of marking property to aid in owner identification of stolen property.
Victim Witness Unit offers support and counseling to victims and witnesses of homicide, sexual assault, felony assault (including domestic), burglary, and misdemeanors involving the elderly. Services include education about victim rights to address the emotional needs of the victim; information on the Criminal Justice System; assistance in filing protection orders and victim compensation forms; and referrals to agencies. Lincoln Chaplaincy Corps Clergy from the community volunteer at least one 24-hour duty day to the city to respond to calls for assistance from the Police and Fire Departments. Chaplains are provided monthly in-service training, a radio, city car, pager and proper identification. Specific services include counseling and referral, follow-up to Police and Fire Department calls, counseling to Police/Fire employees, community-based response, and death notification calls.
