3/14/2020 - COVID-19 Update:
The Intercultural Senior Center is offering food pantry services (sack of groceries, not prepared meals) for adults ages 50 and older. There are three options to receive this assistance:
HOME DELIVERY Call 402-444-6529 to request home delivery; geographic area is limited
PICK UP Come to 5545 Center Street between 10 am and 4 pm, Monday through Friday. A limited area of our lobby will be open for pantry services.
DRIVE UP Come to 5545 Center Street between 10 am and 4 pm, Monday through Friday, and call 402-444-6529 from your car.
Typical services (most currently suspended due to COVID-19):
Educational and wellness programs consist of morning physical activity exercises (Tai-Chi and Zumba), basic English tutorials, literacy classes in Spanish, citizenship classes, computer classes, civic engagement, workshops on health and nutrition, self-esteem activities, health screenings, dance, arts and crafts, sewing, and field trips into the community.
Onsite social services include case management, mental health support groups, and a foot care clinic.
Serves as a meal site for the Eastern Nebraska Office on Aging and provide a culturally appropriate noon meal to all participants from the Meals on Wheels program.
Food pantry open to all adults ages 50 and over, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:30 am-4 pm. ID is required, one pantry per month, emergency pantries available. Call for more information.
Door-to-door van service may be available upon request depending on current capacity and distance.
